For Fujitsu notebooks with serial (not USB!) touchscreens e.g. Lifebook P1610.

  • I bought a Fujitsu t901 i5 laptop and in the system settings it says it has 40 point touch screen but i have never gotten the touchscreen to work. It came with windows 10. Any ideas on how to get it working, possibly missing drivers? Thanks, Dennis.

Installation

Usage

Now we want to get X11 to use the driver.

Search for the touchscreen's serial port:

Hide/remove the default X11 Wacom driver (which does not work anyway). You cando so by renaming the module:

Add the config file from Issue #4 to X11 to set up the new driver.Remember to change the serial port:

Reboot and see if the touchscreen responds.

If it does not, debug with information from /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

Also, I would suggest you to uninstall and re-install the Touchscreen driversin compatibility mode. Here is the steps:

  1. Go to your manufacturer’s website and download the Driver’s setup file for your computer.
  2. Press Windows Key + R on your desktop screen to go to run box.
  3. Type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.
  4. Under Driver, expand, then right click and select Uninstall.
  5. If you are prompted to Confirm then Confirm.
  6. Go to the location where you had saved your downloaded setup files of the drivers and right click, then select Properties.
  7. Select Compatibility Tab.
  8. Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list.
  9. Let the driver to install and then check the functionality.
